About
The world belongs to those who dare to speak.

Lauren has taught at these companies and schools
HelloHai was born from one belief: you learn a language by speaking it. Our app gets everyone practicing out loud, a few minutes a day, with an AI coach that listens, corrects and adapts to them.
HelloHai was founded by Lauren Schwartz. She grew up in a French-American family and has lived in Paris, Los Angeles, New York and Montreal. After starting out in tech sales, at Deliveroo when it launched in Paris and then at Lightspeed in Canada, she has been coaching English for more than fifteen years. Cambridge CELTA certified, she has taught in schools and companies alike, and has seen from A to Z why language learning so often fails:
- In companies, training means one hour a week. That is too little to make progress, it rarely motivates anyone, and nobody has time to practice between sessions. As for online solutions, they still focus too much on writing and not enough on speaking.
- In schools, a teacher cannot get every student speaking, or correct each one out loud. Many know the grammar but don’t dare to speak.
What works is speaking a little every day with someone who really listens, corrects you at the right moment and adapts to you: a private coach, which almost nobody can afford every day. Conversational AI finally makes it possible. That is HelloHai.
Today, HelloHai gets kids, teens, students and adults speaking in seven languages: English, Spanish, German, Italian, French, Hebrew and Arabic. We offer it in three ways:
- HelloHai for individuals and families: everyone has their own profile, coach and level, on mobile and on the web.
- HelloHai Schools for schools: teachers assign speaking homework and follow each student’s progress.
- HelloHai Business for companies: teams practice the situations of their job, and the company follows usage and progress.
Our goal: to transform the way people learn languages, so that nobody ever has to say “I understand, but I don’t dare to speak” again.
Some of our learners are children. Under 13, their voice is never recorded, and all our data is hosted in Europe. We build HelloHai the way we would want it built for our own kids.
